Franklin Templeton hires head of UK institutional sales

US asset manager Franklin Templeton Investments has hired Jennifer Ockwell as head of UK institutional sales.

Ockwell was most recently head of UK institutional at Janus Henderson where she was responsible for managing and building relationships with existing and prospective clients, investment consultants and independent advisors representing pension funds, local authorities and charities.

With over 18 years of experience in the industry, Ockwell previously worked as head of institutional clients at Janus Henderson having previously worked at Threadneedle Investments and Deutsche Asset Management.

She was also previously a trustee director of the Henderson Group pension scheme.

After Ockwell takes up her new role in early July she will be based at Franklin Templeton’s London offices and will report to UK country head Martyn Gilbey.

Franklin Templeton’s previous head of UK institutional was Jill Barber, who left the company last year to take up the post of global head of institutional at Jupiter Asset Management.
