Franceso Samson joins Geneva’s Quaero to “plan for growth”

The former Brevan Howard chief operating officer in Geneva, Francesco Samson (pictured), has joined Quaero Capital.

Samson joins Quaero, also based in Geneva, as group chief operating officer, a newly created role.

At Brevan Howard, the hedge fund firm, Samson also headed the Geneva office and was a member of the executive committee of Brevan Howard Investment Products in Jersey.

Prior to that post, he spent ten years at Switzerland’s EIM SA, a privately owned asset manager, where he was partner and group chief operating officer. He also led M&A activity for the firm.

Jean Keller, CEO of Quaero Capital, said the appointment would strengthen the firm’s structure and help plan for growth of the business.

“Over the past three years we have experienced healthy growth in our assets under management and we are convinced that the arrival of Francesco will help us execute our ambitious business plan.”

Quaero has 1 billion Swiss francs (€935 million) of assets under management.
