Former DST/IFDS man becomes Calastone’s COO

Financial technology firm Calastone, which operates a funds transaction network, has appointed Stephen Mohan to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Mohan has responsibility for managing Calastone’s UK and European businesses. He also leads global product development and service delivery.

Previously, Mohan held roles at DST Systems and the transfer agent, IFDS, which DST partly owns.

Most recently he was executive director for transformation and innovation at DST, a role held since March this year.

Before that he was based in the UK for IFDS Canada and held senior positions in the firm’s retirement business.

DST jointly operates IFDS with State Street, though in March DST took full control of IFDS UK.

Earlier in his career Mohan held executive positions at Bank of New York, M&G and Cofunds.

Calastone’s transaction network spans 34 countries and territories and is used by 1,200 customers for domestic or cross-border funds.
