ETF providers including ETF Securities and WisdomTree are to launch another set of roadshows to educate wealth managers about the products.
Along with BMO Global Asset Management, the ETF Forum will host events across the UK.
The forum, launched in May last year, reached over 200 independent financial advisers across 18 UK cities, according to Mark Weeks, CEO of ETF Securities, who is interviewed in the next issue of Funds Europe published later this month.
The forum now also includes the London Stock Exchange. The industry’s largest provider, iShares, is not involved.
Feedback from attendees last year found nearly three-quarters of attendees said the forum had changed their desire to include ETFs in client portfolios, the forum said, and almost 90% anticipated using lower cost funds for their clients in the next two years.
Rob Thorpe, head of UK intermediary at BMO Global Asset Management, said: “We are using the feedback from previous forum roadshows to adapt our approach to educating the UK advisory market. We are also using the feedback from advisers to act as a voice to address a number of hurdles they currently face in the use of ETFs, including their accessibility through platforms and availability of objective research.”
