Aztec Group has won the fund administration business of Epiris for a fund that has £821 million of commitments and whose investments include the global auction house Bonhams.
Aztec said it had been appointed as provider to Epiris Fund II, a UK mid-market fund domiciled in Jersey and with a global investor base including 46% who hail from North America.
Epiris announced the fund’s first investment in February with the acquisition of Portals, a major manufacturer of paper, or “substrate”, for banknotes and security documents. Other investments to date include consumer magazine publisher TI Media, country club operator The Club Company and Bonhams.
Epiris deploys between £40 million and £150 million of equity in each investment.
Aztec Group, which has administration assets of more than €290 billion, said it supported Epiris with the fundraising and launch activities for the fund.
Simon King, private equity specialist at Aztec, said Aztec had specialised since its inception in the UK mid-market sector.
