Dutch insurance company ASR has supported a BlackRock fixed income exchange-traded fund (ETF) with an undisclosed amount of seed capital.
BlackRock claims its latest ETF that invests in emerging market debt and uses environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics is an ”industry first”.
Called the iShares JP Morgan ESG $ EM Bond Ucits ETF, the fund tracks the JP Morgan ESG EMBI Global Diversified Index. The index results from a BlackRock collaboration with JP Morgan.
The ETF has a total expense ratio of 0.45%.
Benoit Sorel, regional head of iShares product, said: “The improvement in the quality and coverage of ESG data in emerging markets has enabled investors to identify companies with better ESG performance. With this fund, we are providing investors the ability to integrate sustainability considerations in emerging market bond portfolios.”
