Dominique Carrel-Billiard joins Amundi as deputy director

A well-known figure in French asset management, Dominique Carrel-Billiard, is joining Amundi as a deputy director to the firm’s general management.

As a member of the executive committee, he will be responsible for coordinating the recently announced acquisition of Pioneer Investments by Amundi.

Carrel-Billiard was most recently chief executive officer of Financière de l’Echiquier, where he oversaw the firm’s move into key markets such as Milan and Frankfurt. He stepped down on November 16 this year.

Prior, he was chief executive officer of Axa Investment Managers and Amundi said he led the transformation of Axa IM to make it a comprehensive, integrated player in asset management, responsible for consolidating group acquisitions and operational units.

Carrel-Billiard joined the AXA Group in 2004 as head of support and development functions after having been associate director at McKinsey from 1992 to 2004.
