Deutsche AM appoints Petra Pflaum to head ESG investing

Petra Pflaum (pictured) has been appointed as chief investment officer for responsible investments as Deutsche Asset Management.

The firm is integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices into its investments and Pflaum takes on responsibility for this in the newly created role.

Pflaum retains her position as head of equities in Europe, Middle East and Africa for Deutsche AM, but is joined by Britta Weidenbach, current head of European equities, who will become co-head effective immediately.

Pflaum will also become a member of the management board of Deutsche Asset Management Investment GmbH.

Pflaum, who joined Deutsche AM in 1999, was most recently co-head of global research and global head of small & mid-cap equities.
