Delta Capita expands collateral management capability

Delta Capita, a business and technology consultancy, has bought The Field Effect (TFE), another consultancy based in London that specialises in prime services, financing, clearing and collateral management.

Delta Capita said the purchase helps in its aim of building a securities finance and prime consultancy business at a time when the market is calling out for expert opinion to manage balance sheet constraints, new regulatory requirements and the need to transition to new technology.

The firm added that it had been investing in the development of a securities finance managed service platform that will help customers to negotiate these challenges.

The acquired company, TFE, was formed in 2015 shortly after securities financing and collateral expert David Field stepped away from his ten-year involvement as executive director at Rule Financial to form his own company.

For TFE, the deal provides additional scale that will facilitate the next phase of its growth ambitions. Delta Capita also brings consortium and utility expertise, global coverage and a book of established service agreements with large market participants.

Field himself will lead the prime services and securities finance practice and will take a place on Delta Capita’s executive committee.

Delta Capita said that, together, the merged entity offers strength in pre- and post-trade strategy, operating model design, along with data integration solutions, technology delivery and managed services.
