The CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK), the body for investment professionals, has appointed five new fellows in recognition of “exceptional service” to the investment industry and to the society.
The new fellows are: Gerry Fowler, investment director of Aberdeen Standard Investments, Deborah Fuhr, founder of the data provider ETFGI, Nitin Mehta, former managing director of the CFA Institute in Emea, David Pitt-Watson, visiting fellow at the Cambridge Judge Business School and Andreas Utermann, the former chief executive of Allianz Global Investors.
Fellows are elected to the CFA UK every other year and the five new appointees bring the total number of fellows to 85.
Will Goodhart, chief executive of CFA UK, said “Deborah and Andreas have accomplished important pioneering work in the clients’ best interests.
“David has achieved a great deal to hold the investment profession to account and has challenged us to perform the important role that society expects of us with respect to governance and responsible investment.
“Gerry and Nitin have attained a huge amount over the past decade or more to build CFA UK’s resources so that we can play our own part. We’re grateful to the committee for identifying such a great group and look forward to working with them.”
