Capital Group hires in Switzerland

Capital Group has appointed a managing director for financial intermediaries in Switzerland as part of its ongoing growth strategy in the country.

In the newly-created role, former RobecoSAM employee Marco Büchler (pictured) will join Capital’s team in the Swiss capital and report directly to Grant Leon, Capital Group’s managing director for financial intermediaries in Europe and Asia.

Leon said Switzerland was one of the US fund manager’s “priority markets” in Europe.

Prior to joining Capital Group, Büchler was head of wholesale and client relations in Switzerland for RobecoSAM.

Capital Group – which manages over $1.9 trillion (€1.72 trillion) – opened its first office outside the US in Switzerland back in 1962.

The US fund manager also recently appointed Matteo Astolfi as managing director for financial intermediaries in Italy.
