Calendar: hedge funds, ESG, private capital, and more

Gaining the Edge – a forum revolving around the hedge fund industry – kicks off in New York on November 4. Organisers say it features “leading” hedge fund investors on panels providing insights into the most attractive strategies currently available.

In Amsterdam, FundForum Global ESG & Impact focuses on all things environmental, social and governance. What opportunities are there in ESG and impact investing, and what can be expected of the future?

Gaining the Edge New York 2019
November 4 to 5 – The Roosevelt Hotel, New York, US

According to organisers, the first four Gaining the Edge conferences sold out well in advance – and this one is expected to do the same. The event, which started life back in 2016, was created by consulting firm Agecroft Partners to “enhance investors’ knowledge” of the hedge fund industry, as well as improve the lives of children.

The conference is designed to incite “robust commentary and debate” amongst hedge fund employees, investors, and other industry heads about how to enhance the risk adjusted returns of a diversified hedge fund portfolio.


Global Wealthtech Summit
November 5 – Kings Place, London, UK

A key date on the fintech calendar, the Global Wealth Summit, hosted by AltAssets and FinTech Global, focuses on all the latest trends and developments in the industry.


FundForum Global ESG & Impact
November 12 to 13 – Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Part of the global FundForum series, the event takes a look at all things environmental, social and governance (ESG) such as new investor opportunities in ESG and impact investing, and future trends in the industry.


ALFI Switzerland Roadshow
November 13 – Kempinski Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland
November 14 – Marriott Hotel Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland

The Association of the Luxembourg Funds Industry hits the road in November with two separate events held on consecutive days in Switzerland. According to the organisation, the conferences will be an opportunity to hear updates on the most recent developments in cross-border fund distribution as well as solutions in the alternative investments space.


Green Equities 2019
November 25 - Hilton London Tower Bridge, London, UK

The organisers, Environmental Finance, say the event will assess the risks and opportunities for investors, while considering perspectives from pension funds, insurers and asset managers. There will be dedicated streams for listed and private equity, as well as sessions on sustainability-themed indices.


CFA Institute European Investment Conference
November 25 to 26 - The Westin Palace, Madrid, Spain

Hosted by CFA Spain, the conference brings together portfolio managers, analysts, CIOs, and CEOs to analyse the most pressing issues affecting financial markets, such as geopolitical trends, emerging niche investment products, and the information of technology on the industry. 


Germany Institutional Forum
December 12 – Jumeirah Hotel, Frankfurt, Germany

The fourth edition of the Germany Institutional Forum will take a look at major economic trends, asset allocation and risk management, ESG integration, emerging markets, fixed income, and much more. 


IPEM 2020
January 28 to 30 – Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France

IPEM 2020 is an annual conference that focuses on the private capital market bringing together key industry figures from around the world. This year organisers expect around 2,400 delegates from over 40 countries.
