CALENDAR: Guernsey, Sibos, and more…

Sibos opens its doors for the first time in London on September 23, bringing together industry leaders to discuss topics such as mass digitisation and more.

Other upcoming funds industry events include Guernsey Finance in London, and Alfi’s Global Distribution Conference in Luxembourg, which will examine the changing face of distribution and have a specific focus on data and automation.

October sees the third ever GIIN Investor Forum take place. GIIN is the world’s largest gathering of impact investing professionals, according to the organisation.

Guernsey Funds Masterclass 2019
September 18 – etc.venues – St. Paul’s, London, UK

This year’s Guernsey Finance event will analyse how substance, stability, and service will be driving the factors of locational preference into 2020 – as well as discuss how fund structures and jurisdictions are evolving.

Sibos
September 23 to 26 – ExCel Centre, London, UK

For the first time ever, Sibos will be held in London. This year’s main theme is “thriving in a hyper-connected world”. It will take a look at the challenges and opportunities presented by mass digitisation, as well as exploring the impact of new technologies on infrastructures, value propositions and business models.

Alfi Global Distribution Conference
September 24 to 25 – European Convention Centre, Luxembourg

With the onset of newer technologies, the face of distribution in the industry is changing. This year’s Alfi Global Distribution Conference explores data and automation in asset management, as well as how generational changes may impact distribution. Other themes include whether institutional managers hold the key to the future – or whether there will ever be a one-stop-shop app that helps users filter funds by social impact and price. The long and short of it, as the world continues to evolve, how will funds distribution evolve as well?

Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) Investor Forum
October 2 to 3 – Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam, Netherlands

This year’s five core themes are: integrating impact; product development; market development; climate and the environment; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsible Asset Owners Global Symposium
October 8 – Church House, London, UK

The first ever edition of RAOGlobal aims to assess how demand for more collective and alignment and understanding can be met when it comes to responsible asset ownership.

MIPIM UK Summit
October 14 to 15 – Old Billingsgate, London, UK

Bringing together some of the head honchos in the UK real estate industry, including both private and public sector professionals, MIPIM UK is the country’s only real estate summit covering all asset classes, according to the organisation. As well as taking a look at some of the biggest issues affecting the industry today, it offers the chance to gain industry insights, covering themes such as infrastructure, environment, economics, society, and more. A networker’s paradise, the conference offers attendees access to development projects and sources of capital for UK projects, MIPIM UK said.

October 16 – Hotel Grandium, Prague, Czech Republic

A one day event dedicated to the private equity and venture capital industry, it aims to bring together international and regional investors to discuss the latest trends and insights.

Pensions & Lifetime Savings Association Annual Conference & Exhibition
October 16 to 18 – Manchester Central, Manchester, UK

Taking a look at what is driving the future of the pensions industry, the conference will examine themes such as ESG, fintech, dashboard, and more over the course of three days.

Gaining the Edge New York 2019
November 4 to 5 – The Roosevelt Hotel, New York, US

According to organisers, the first four Gaining the Edge conferences sold out well in advance – and this one is expected to do the same. The event, which started life back in 2016, was created by consulting firm Agecroft Partners to “enhance investors’ knowledge” of the hedge fund industry, as well as improve the lives of children.

The conference is designed to incite “robust commentary and debate” amongst hedge fund employees, investors, and other industry heads about how to enhance the risk adjusted returns of a diversified hedge fund portfolio.

FundForum Global ESG & Impact
November 12 to 13 – Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Part of the global FundForum series, the event takes a look at all things environmental, social and governance (ESG) such as new investor opportunities in ESG and impact investing, and future trends in the industry.

Green Equities 2019
November 25 – Hilton London Tower Bridge, London, UK

Organised by Environmental Finance, the third annual Green Equities conference will assess the risks and opportunities presented by a changing investment landscape dominated by issues such as the environment.
