BNY Mellon IM launches concentrated global equity fund

BNY Mellon Investment Management has launched the Global Leaders fund, which the firm’s Walter Scott & Partners will manage.

The fund invests in equities of global companies with “dominant business models, enduring growth potential and strong cash flow generation”.

The fund will typically hold between 25 and 30 of the world’s “most innovative and market leading global companies” and will be biased towards large capitalisation companies in order to manage liquidity.

Matt Oomen, head of international distribution at BNY Mellon IM, said Walter Scott has an “outstanding long-term track record and is renowned for its rigorous and proven approach to global equity investing”.

Walter Scott has 19 investment professionals and was established 30 years ago.

BNY Mellon IM describes itself as the “world’s largest boutique manager” with $1.7 trillion of assets under management.
