BNPP IP bolsters Australasian offering

Paris-headquartered BNP Paribas Investment Partners has appointed James Langlands as head of advice business for Australia and New Zealand.

Langlands spent the past 15 years at BlackRock where he was most recently head of wealth advisory for Australia.

Langlands will join BNPP IP in September to develop the firm’s funds under management, working in conjunction with dealer groups, private wealth firms, family offices, and other players in the market.

The role is based in Sydney and will involve consultation with other regional offices in Melbourne and Perth, Australia, and Wellington, New Zealand.

BNP Paribas managed assets of €530 billion, as of June 30, 2016.
