BlackRock enjoys record inflows for 2017

BlackRock posted record $367 billion (€306 billion) of total net inflows in 2017 including $103 billion of fourth quarter net inflows.

Retail long-term net inflows of $11.4 billion reflected net inflows of $7.4 billion in the United States and $4 billion internationally.

iShares ETFs generated $245 billion of full year net inflows, as institutional and retail clients increasingly use exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for asset allocation and alpha generation, the company said.

Laurence Fink, chairman and chief executive of BlackRock, said: ““BlackRock’s record 2017 results reflect the long-term investments we’ve consistently made in our business to better serve clients.”

BlackRock had $6.28 trillion of assets under management as of December 31, 2017, up from $5.97 trillion the previous quarter.
