Aviva makes senior property hires

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva Plc, has made a pair of appointments in its property business.

Daniel McHugh has been appointed head of UK real estate and Melanie Collett has been appointed head of real estate asset management.

Based in London, McHugh reports to Ed Casal, chief executive, Aviva Investors Real Estate. He is responsible for all direct real estate activity in the UK; leading the firm’s specialist fund management, asset management and transaction teams.

McHugh was previously head of continental European real estate investment at Standard Life Investments.

McHugh takes over from David Skinner who held the role in the interim following the departure of Ben Stirling in 2016. Skinner will continue to lead the real estate investment strategy and portfolio management team with overall accountability for the formulation of fund level strategy and risk positioning, and asset allocation decisions for mandates managed within the Aviva Investors Real Estate business.

Collett takes over from Barry Hill, who will focus on leading UK office asset management.
