Artemis appoints former JPMAM UK head

Dick Turpin, the distribution head at boutique Artemis Investment Management in London, is to retire, the firm said as it announced his successor.

Jasper Berens, formerly UK country head at JP Morgan Asset Management until March this year, will join Artemis in October as head of distribution.

Turpin will retire at the end of the year and has been responsible for sales and distribution at Artemis since 2002.

Artemis has £28.2 billion (€32.2 billion) of assets under management and makes some of its funds available in Europe and Singapore. It is owned by its partners and Affiliated Managers Group.

Mark Murray, Artemis’ senior partner, said: “Dick Turpin’s contributions both to Artemis and to our industry have been enormous. Dick has been integral to helping build Artemis into the firm it is today. We wish him a very long and happy retirement, after almost 30 years in fund management.”
