Anne Richards leaves M&G for Fidelity top role

Anne Richards is to become Fidelity International’s chief executive officer after two-and-a-half years in the same role at M&G Investments.

The appointment, which was announced last week, will commence in December.

Richards joined M&G Investments in June 2016 after leaving Aberdeen Asset Management where she had been chief investment officer.

Richards said: “This is an exciting opportunity to lead an international company as it moves into the next stage of its growth plans. Fidelity is an admired global brand with the potential to lead the market as individuals recognise the need to take ever-greater control over their financial security.”

Richards will report to Abigail P. Johnson, chairman of Fidelity International.

Richards chairs the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s Practitioner Panel and is a member of the US-based Board of Leaders of 2020 Women on Boards, which works to increase the proportion of women on corporate boards.

In 2015 Richards was awarded a CBE.
