The Asset Management Exchange (AMX) – a firm backed by investment consultant Willis Towers Watson that claimed it could knock 40 basis points off global equity costs – has hired Larry Morrissey to the newly-created role of chief compliance officer for AMX Ireland.
Based in the company’s Cork offices, Morrisey will be responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance for AMX Ireland, which manages over $8 billion (€7.2 billion) in assets.
Morrisey joins from MPMF Fund Management where he served as senior vice-president for the Irish side of the business for three years and held a number of compliance roles on behalf of various institutional clients.
He was also the main point of contact on regulatory matters and assisted with distribution of funds in Europe.
Prior to this, he was a key member of head of investment fund listings at Maples and Calder for nine years.
Launched in 2017, AMX acts as a low-cost hub for institutions and asset managers that manage their money.
