Amundi makes Kasper Elmgreen equity lead

Kasper Elmgreen (pictured) has become the head of Amundi’s equity investment platform, meaning the French asset manager has found a replacement for Diego Franzin.

Elmgreen joins from Copenhagen-based Nordea Asset Management, where he was head of fundamental equities since 2014. Prior to that, he had held various portfolio management roles over ten years at Bankinvest Asset Management, including head of equities from 2010.

His Amundi role will be based in Ireland, which is where Pioneer Investments operated before being acquired by Amundi in 2016.

Franzin, who joined Amundi through the Pioneer acquisition and left last year after 20 years with the firm, had been head of the equity platform since January 2018.

He was previously co-head of European equity since the acquisition completed in June 2017, sharing the role with Romain Boscher. Boscher left Amundi to become Fidelity Investments’ global chief investment officer for equities in February 2018.

During the same month Amundi announced the appointment of Alexandre Drabowicz to the newly created role of deputy head of equities.
