America’s OppenheimerFunds furthers Europe push

US asset manager OppenheimerFunds has continued its drive into the European market with the appointment of Patrik Silfverling to head of Nordics and Benelux.

The newly created appointment in the region follows the firm’s opening of a European headquarters in London earlier in the quarter.

Silfverling will be responsible for growing the firm’s sales and distribution among institutional and wealthy clients in the Nordic and Benelux regions.

Based in Stockholm, he will report to Doug Stewart, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea).

Silfverling joined from Franklin Templeton where he was director and head of Nordics.

The hire is part of the firm’s expansion of its Emea operation platform, following the recent hiring of Dicken Watson as Emea chief operating officer.
