Allianz Real Estate restructures research team

Allianz Real Estate – the real assets arm of Allianz Group – has appointed Megan Walters to the new role of global head of research. This is the latest of a number of hires, which the firm says is to keep up with ongoing growth.

Joining from JLL Asia Pacific, Walters will initially be based in the firm’s Singapore office before relocating her family to Europe. She will report to chief investment officer Oliver Teran.

Teran said: “The sophisticated nature of our clients mean that we are in a strong position to add new strategies each year. Our growth comes from those new strategies – be that new geographies, asset classes or ways of investing.”

Walters, who has over 20 years’ industry experience, was most recently a member of the JLL Global Research executive team and held the position of head of research covering Asia Pacific.

Allianz Real Estate has opened three new offices this year, while hires have included Kari Pitkin as head of business development for Europe, Shripal Shah as head of debt origination in London, and Jenny Lindholm as director Nordics in Stockholm.
