Employee-owned investment manager Neuberger Berman has taken on Jose Cosio to lead the firm’s intermediary client coverage between Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and Latin America.
Joining from rival New York-headquartered Alliance Bernstein, where he held various senior roles, Cosio replaces Tom Douie. He will be reporting directly to regional head Dik van Lomwel.
According to van Lomwel, Cosio’s appointment is part of the firm’s aim to “deepen the dialogue” with its partners at global and regional financial institutions.
Cosio has been in the financial services industry for 18 years, holding roles at firms such as Wells Fargo’s subsidiary Wachovia Securities, and Old Mutual Bermuda.
Neuberger Berman’s Ucits platform has nearly 50 funds across both traditional and alternative asset classes offering investors solutions across liquid and illiquid markets, according to van Lomwel.
Total assets under management (AuM) in its Ucits funds have grown from $3 billion (€2.7 billion) to $44 billion over the last ten years.
As of March 31, the American fund manager’s overall AuM totalled $322.6 billion spread out over equity, fixed income, and alternative assets.
