Morningstar, the provider of independent investment research, has made two appointments to the Morningstar Investment Management group in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (Emea) region.
Dan Kemp (pictured) will take the role of chief investment officer for Morningstar’s Investment Management group for the Emea region. He replaces Daniel Needham, who became president and chief investment officer for the group in January of this year.
Kemp will lead Morningstar’s investment management team for the Emea region, working with advisers and institutions to help them deliver investment solutions to investors. He will report to Needham.
Kemp joined Morningstar in 2014 as co-head of investment consulting and portfolio management for Morningstar Investment Management in the Emea region. He previously served with Albemarle Street Partners, an investment consultancy partnership he co-founded.
Robin Johnson will hold the position of head of portfolio management, Emea, a role that he previously shared with Kemp as co-head. Johnson joined Morningstar in 2007 and leads its portfolio management team across Emea, reporting to Kemp.
Johnson oversees Morningstar OBSR Managed Portfolios Service, an adviser-channeled discretionary funds management offering for UK investors. He is also portfolio manager for sub-advisory relationships across Europe. Before joining Morningstar, Johnson served with Mellon Global Investors and Bestinvest, an independent UK financial adviser.
The Morningstar Investment Management group consists of 105 investment professionals advising clients and managing portfolios worldwide.
