Mirae Asset targets Benelux and the Nordics

Mirae Asset Global Investments, an Asian emerging markets equity specialist, has hired Sander van Ouwerkerk as head of Benelux and Nordic sales, in a push to target asset growth in the regions.

Based in London, Sander will be responsible for leading Mirae Asset’s distribution in Benelux and the Nordics, targeting a range of institutional, wealth management, fund of fund and private bank clients.

Sander’s role is a newly created position, and the firm says it is seeking to build on strong asset raising traction across 2014 in its core Luxembourg Sicav range.

Sander is a Dutch national with 15 years of experience in the asset management sector. He has spent the last ten years in relationship management and business development positions, and has worked at Alliance Bernstein, Dimensional Fund Advisers and Acadian Asset Management.

Ashley Dale, head of international business development at Mirae Asset, says the Benelux and Nordic regions are “tremendously important” for the business, which currently has $65 billion (€57 billion) in assets under management.
