M&G Real Estate has appointed Hyesik Ryu as managing director to lead its business in South Korea in a newly created role.
The company says it aims to internationalise its business and diversify its portfolio of Asian real estate assets.
Ryu will lead deal-sourcing capabilities in South Korea for the Asia property strategy of M&G Real Estate, which invests in high quality office, retail and industrial real estate assets across the Asia Pacific region.
The strategy is managed by Erle Spratt and comprises seven assets across Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea and Australia.
Based in Seoul, Ryu will be responsible for the management and oversight of the office and will report to Scott Girard, chief executive of M&G Real Estate Asia.
Prior to joining M&G Real Estate, Ryu was a director with Hyundai Securities where he managed the project financing, loan structuring and acquisition of real estate assets.
