Martin Currie appoints Mark Whitehead head of equity income

Mark WhiteheadEdinburgh-based equity specialist, Martin Currie, has appointed Mark Whitehead as the firm’s head of equity income. This newly created role further enhances Martin Currie’s existing income capability. Whitehead will lead Martin Currie’s seven-strong income team, which currently manages assets in excess of £850 million (€1.2 billion). Whitehead has over 17 years’ investment management experience. He joins Martin Currie from Sarasin and Partners where he was head of their equity income team and lead portfolio manager for their global equity income range, with responsibility for assets exceeding £900 million. “It’s great to welcome Mark to the team - his appointment represents an important step in the strengthening and development of our income business,” says John Pickard, head of investment at Martin Currie.
