Martin Currie appoints director for Asia Unconstrained Trust

Martin Currie Asia Unconstrained Trust has appointed Martin Shenfield as a non-executive director of the company.

Currently a senior macro strategist at Lombard Street Research, he has held various senior chief executive officer and chief investment officer positions following a career with Fidelity.

Shenfield joins as shareholders passed a resolution last year, which changed the investment mandate of the company and adopted the Asia Long-Term Unconstrained strategy.

This means that portfolio manager Andrew Graham and his team are now unconstrained by any benchmark.

“We are very pleased to welcome Martin Shenfield as a director of the Company. He has a wealth of experience within the investment industry and strong specialist knowledge of Asia,” says Harry Wells, chairman of the Martin Currie Asia Unconstrained Trust.
