Global ETP flows surpass last year’s level

Global exchange-traded product (ETP) flows of $193.7 billion (€152 billion) have surpassed last year’s figure due to demand for emerging markets, gold and investment grade assets.

Last year’s flows overall were $173.4 billion, according to BlackRock.

In its latest industry update BlackRock says emerging markets, gold and investment grade attracted $10.9 billion in October alone.

ETPs listed in Europe generated $4.6 billion of inflows, representing 42% of total global flows in October. This was the highest ratio BlackRock recorded this year.

Flows remained robust and diversified by asset class, BlackRock says, making October the third consecutive month of flows greater than $4 billion.
