F&C Investments’ Climate Opportunity Partners, a private equity fund of funds focusing on climate change, has attracted €30 million from three institutional investors, the firm said as it announced the fund’s first close.
The fund will invest in a range of private equity funds and project-focused funds, as well as direct investments, across the entire climate change opportunity set as defined by nine internally identified themes.
F&C’s private equity funds team is based in Edinburgh and headed by Hamish Mair. The team has investments in 98 funds managed by 65 different private equity managers and has around £500 million (€571 million) in three private equity funds of funds.
The fund has been set up as a Scottish Limited Partnership. Management fees will be calculated as 1.5% of total commitments.
