Kinetic Partners appoints CEO

Kinetic Partners, a financial services consultancy, has appointed Julian Korek as chief executive officer and expanded its management team.

Korek is a founding member of the firm.

Andrew Shrimpton and Monique Melis, described as two senior ex-regulators, join the management team.

At the UK’s Financial Services Authority Shrimpton was responsible for putting in place the risk-based regime for supervising hedge fund managers.

Geoff Varga and Nick Matthews, who lead Kinetic Partners’ corporate recovery and restructuring, and forensic practices respectively, have also joined the team.

David Butler, another founder, is leaving the firm in the near future to pursue other opportunities.

“Our clients have clearly intimated that they see the US and Asia as the regions where the most growth will occur and our management team appointments reflect this,” says Korek.
