Swiss banking group Syz has appointed Katia Coudray as chief executive officer (CEO) of Syz Asset Management, the institutional asset management division of the Syz Group.
Coudray replaces Patrick Bedat, who has moved role to become company general secretary.
As CEO, Coudray will also be a member of the group's executive committee. Having joined Syz in 2011 as head of product development, she subsequently held the role of head of investment at Syz Asset Management, which manages the ‘Oyster’ range of Ucits funds and other mandates.
Before joining Syz, Coudray worked for ten years at Union Bancaire Privée in Geneva, where she was a member of the Asset Management Executive Committee and a member of the committee in charge of defining the group's investments.
"Katia Coudray's appointment is an important step in the development of our institutional asset management division," says Syz Group CEO, Eric Syz.
Florent Guy-Ducrot will also join Syz Asset Management on September 1, 2015 as head of business development, replacing Xavier Guillon who leaves the firm to join Decalia Asset Management in Geneva. Guy-Ducrot will also be a member of the executive committee of Syz Asset Management, and will work on implementing the Group's growth strategy.
Guy-Ducrot has 18 years' experience in finance, previously holding the position of head of sales and distribution in a number of asset management companies, including HSBC and Crédit Agricole (now Amundi), with the task of defining the marketing and sales strategy for international clients, including in Asia.
Syz Group has €28 billion assets under management and is expanding its team as part of an effort to grow its international presence.
