Investec appoints Matthew Oakeley as chief technology officer

Matthew OakeleyInvestec Asset Management has appointed Matthew Oakeley to the newly created role of chief technology officer. Oakeley will further enhance the firm’s technology platform under the leadership of chief operating officer Kim McFarland. Previously head of group information technology at Schroders, Oakley has 25 years of experience in managing technological innovation within the financial services and asset management industry. McFarland says: “Hiring Mat underlines our belief in the importance of developing a best-in-class technology capability to support our delivery to clients.” Investec Asset Management manages approximately US $118 billion (€104.2 billion) on behalf of third-party clients, as at the end of June 2015. ©2015 funds europe
