Funds Europe has appointed Mark Latham, former editor of Private Equity News, as its deputy editor.
Latham returns to Funds Europe after three years covering private markets at the Dow Jones title.
A multi-award-winning financial and business journalist with over 20 years of experience, Latham has worked in Berlin, Brussels, Glasgow and London for a variety of newspapers, including The Sunday Times, the Herald and Politico Europe.
John Greenwood, group editorial director at Funds Europe, said: “We’re delighted to welcome a journalist of Mark’s calibre to the team as we expand our focus on the European asset management industry by augmenting our highly-respected editorial with our new research initiatives and enhanced programme of events.”
Ricardo Medina, group commercial director at Funds Europe, said: “Our audience want to receive content that is relevant, insightful and independent, and Mark’s addition to the team reflects our continued investment in quality journalism.
“He joins at an exciting time in the development of the publication, which we acquired in June 2023, since when we have expanded our in-person events programme, revamped the bigger-and-better Funds Europe Awards, and launched our Funds Europe Intelligence research unit, bringing market-leading independent analysis to our stakeholders across the sector.”
Said Latham: “After three years covering private markets I am looking forward to renewing friendships across the asset management industry and covering the wider investment community.”
