Railpen expands asset management capabilities

Sweta ChattopadhyayRPMI Railpen has added three investment managers to newly created roles in its £22 billion (€28.4 billion) Railways Pension Scheme’s in-house asset management team.

Sweta Chattopadhyay (pictured) has joined the private markets team as senior investment manager. She has a decade of experience in the field and joins from alternative investment manager Adveq.

Matthias Eifert and Tony Guida have been appointed investment managers and focus on equities. Eifert has 15 years’ industry experience and joins from Macquarie Securities. Guida has 12 years’ experience and joins from the Edhec Risk Institute, prior to which he was at Unigestion.

The appointments are part of Railpen’s continued expansion. In January, the firm co-created two factor-allocated equity funds with Geneva-based boutique Unigestion and provided seed capital for both vehicles.
