AXA Investment Managers has appointed Michael Ganske as head of emerging markets fixed income.
Ganske joins from Rogge Global Partners where he was a partner and head of emerging markets. Based in London, he will report into Chris Iggo, chief investment officer, fixed income, and led a global team of 10 investment professionals based in London, Paris and Hong Kong.
The team manages around €5 billion of emerging market debt, across three flagship retail funds and several segregated institutional mandates.
Previously, Ganske was managing director and divisional head of emerging market research at Commerzbank between 2007 and 2013, and director and head of emerging markets at Deka Investment between 2004 and 2007.
The hire is the latest in a series of high profile appointments for the firm. Earlier this month, Pierre-Emmanuel Juillard re-joined the firm to lead a new investment team, focused on liquid absolute return strategies. In January, Laurence Boone, special advisor to French President François Hollande on multilateral and European economic and financial affairs, replaced Eric Chaney as the group’s chief economist.
AXA IM manages assets of around €669 billion as of December 31 2015.
