Aspect hires Auriel Capital Management duo

HiredComputer-driven investment manager Aspect Capital has acquired Auriel Capital Management and hired its founders, Asif Noor and Anoosh Lachin.

Noor and Lachin, both former quantitative executives for Deutsche Asset Management, will develop Aspect’s systematic global macro and currency strategies and continue to manage Auriel’s existing Absolute Return Strategy fund. They will also work towards the launch of a new fund aimed at macro-economic opportunities.

Aspect has been on the hunt for external research expertise in recent years. This is the third investment team absorbed by the firm since 2014.

Auriel Capital Management (which Aspect has acquired) was founded in 2004 and runs systematic global macro and currency strategies.

Aspect manages assets of $6.6 billion (€6 billion), of which $1.4 billion was added with the Auriel purchase.
