Standard Life hires Virgin Money’s Jonathan Kennedy for digital

Digiltal solutionsJonathan Kennedy, who helped spearhead Virgin Money’s expansion in digital banking, has joined Standard Life Investments (SLI) in a new technology role.

SLI says the recruitment process was competitive and that Kennedy’s experience at Virgin Money was a clincher.

Kennedy will take up the newly created role of director of change & technology in March.

SLI said that integrating and developing the firm’s IT infrastructure had become more important after “substantial global growth” over the past decade, with more assets under management flowing from North American and Asian operations.

The firm has also grown by acquisition, such as the purchase of Ignis Asset Management in July 2014.

Kennedy will be a member of the firm’s operating committee when he joins SLI on March 29.

SLI managed assets of £250 billion (€323.3 billion) worldwide, as of July 2015.
