Candriam Investors Group has created roles to “renew” its push in the UK market.
Chris Davies has been appointed head of UK distribution and Derek Brander becomes head of UK wholesale.
Davies, who will be responsible for driving distribution across institutional, wholesale and retail investor segments, joins from Fidelity, where he focussed on bank distribution, platform development and investment trusts.
He began his career at Lloyds Banking Group, where he spent seven years before moving to Prudential.
Brander worked on the UK wholesale business for Natixis before the Candriam appointment and has also held senior roles at Societe Generale Asset Management, GLG Partners and Aegon.
Candriam, which currently manages assets of €91 billion, is owned by New York Life Investment Management. Its parent firm manages assets overall of €500 billion worldwide.
Funds Europe interviewed Naïm Abou-Jaoudé, the chief executive of Candriam, last year, and the firm won the Funds Europe 2015 award for asset manager with €20-100 billion of assets under management.
