Mark Dampier to become non-exec at Invesco trust

Mark Dampier1Mark Dampier, head of investment research at Hargreaves Lansdown, one of the UK’s largest independent financial advisers, will become a non-executive director of the £195 million (€250 million) Invesco Income Growth trust.

Ciaran Mallon has managed the trust since 2005. Over five years to December 31, 2015, the trust has delivered a net asset value total return of 76.5% compared to a total return of 33.8% from the FTSE All Share index.

Dampier is also a director of Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management and a member of the group’s executive management committee.

Commenting on his appointment, Dampier said equity income was a “favourite sector” of his, and given the UK’s ageing population, will play an increasingly important role for domestic investors.

The appointment is effective from March 1.
