Fidelity scoops UK TV economics editor

GlobemapFidelity International has appointed ITV economics editor Richard Edgar as editor in chief of its global content strategy.

Edgar will develop investment and retirement content for a broad range of clients across 25 countries. He joins Fidelity from the UK’s ITV News station, where he has been economics editor since 2011. He led all economics coverage at the channel, reporting on the UK economy and developments in international markets.

He has also held senior editorial roles at a range of outlets, including the Financial Times, Reuters and the BBC.

In recent years, Fidelity has embraced editorial and video content as a means of connecting with new clients, as developments in key jurisdictions such as the UK pension freedoms mean an ever-greater number of consumers turn to investing as a means of growing their savings. Edgar is the latest in a string of scoops from major media organisations.
