European asset manager Amundi has strengthened its equity set-up with the appointment of Barry Glavin as head of equity investment platform.
Vafa Ahmadi, head of thematic equities for CPR Asset Management, will expand his role to oversee global thematic equity for Amundi.
Prior to joining the asset managemer, Glavin was the chief investment officer of State Street Global Advisors’ Fundamental Value Equities team since 2013. He was previously head of research, fundamental
equities.
He joined State Street Global Advisors in 2006 from HSBC Asset Management where he was a portfolio manager, then an equity analyst between 2000 and 2006.
Glavin, a graduate in Politics and Philosophy from University College Dublin and a CFA charter holder, began his career in finance as
an exchange-traded derivatives broker.
