Man GLG scoops HSBC fixed income VIP

Guillermo Osses 0240A Print 410London’s Man GLG has appointed Guillermo Ossés (pictured) head of emerging market debt strategies.

Ossés has 24 years of experience in emerging markets and fixed income investing. He joins Man GLG from HSBC Global Asset Management, where he spent four years leading the firm’s emerging markets fixed income capabilities, managing around €20 billion. He has also worked in similar positions at Pimco, Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank.

The position is based in New York, and his recruitment is said to be the latest move in the firm’s North America expansion strategy. Last year, Man GLG bought US investment advisory Silvermine, and scalped Perry Capital’s US hedge fund aficionado Himanshu Gulati as part of this effort.
