Martin Currie’s latest hire bolsters Scandinavian offering

Handshake 3Martin Currie, the Edinburgh-based equity specialist, has signalled its Scandanivan focus with the appointment of Andreas Wallendahl to its London team.

Wallendahl, a Norwegian national who speaks five languages, will become head of Nordic business development and client service. He joins from BNY Mellon Investment Management, where he was managing director, head of the Nordic region.

“Andreas brings a considerable knowledge of Scandinavian and North European financial markets to this role, combined with deep and established institutional and consultant relationships,” says David Townsend, head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, global consultant relations at Martin Currie.

Wallendahl said he is joining Martin Currie at a juncture when effective active equity management is of “critical” importance for many leading Nordic institutional investors.

Martin Currie manages assets of around €10.5 billion.
