Gary Buxton rises at ETF firm, Source

Gary BuxtonGary Buxton, the first person that Source, a provider of exchange-traded products, appointed ahead of its 2009 launch has become the firm’s chief financial officer (CFO).

As well as CFO, Buxton continues with his previous responsibilities, which include overseeing new product execution, trading, risk management and operations.

He was previously a director at Merrill Lynch, in charge of hedge fund product development and structuring, and joined Source in 2008.

Buxton began his career at the accountancy firm Deloitte & Touche. He has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bristol and is a chartered accountant.

Lee Kranefuss, Source chairman, said: “In undertaking the search for a CFO, we wanted someone who could combine financial and tax expertise with the ability to think strategically and understand not only the specifics of the ETF industry but also the unique aspects of Source.”
