Hermes Investment Management has hired Patrick Marshall in a newly created role as head of private debt and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).
Marshall will be responsible for establishing and building Hermes’ business in the leveraged loan, private debt and CLO markets in the UK, Europe and globally. Based at the company’s headquarters in London, he will report to Zoe Shaw, head of fixed income.
Shaw says: “Patrick’s extensive experience of the debt markets will play an integral role in building on the strong fixed income and credit capabilities already in place.”
With over 20 years of debt market experience, Marshall joins from investment firm Tikehau Capital where he was a member of the management committee and was responsible for developing the firm’s direct lending activities in London and setting up a CLO program.
He was previously responsible for managing loan portfolios as part of the process of the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. He also has experience of setting up a debt management business in London during his work at WCAS Fraser Sullivan Investment Management.
Hermes has £30.1 billion (€42.4 billion) in assets under management, as at March 31, 2015.
