Goldman Sachs launches emerging market debt fund

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has launched a long-only fund investing in emerging market corporate and government bonds.

The Goldman Sachs Growth and Emerging Markets Debt Blend Portfolio1 will be a blend of securities denominated in dollar and local currencies.

It seeks to provide clients with access to multiple emerging market debt asset classes in a single solution, including local currency government bonds, dollar-denominated government bonds, and dollar-denominated corporate debt.

Sam Finkelstein, global head of macro strategies and chief investment officer of emerging market debt, says that “as investor familiarity with emerging market debt increases, we are already seeing investors add local sovereign and corporate debt to their external sovereign mandates”.
