Italy’s Generali Group has launched a socially responsible investment (SRI) fund based on the ageing theme.
The GIS SRI Ageing Population fund invests in healthcare, pensions and savings, and consumer goods companies that are screened for SRI issues, like environmental impact.
The fund has a portfolio of around 50 stocks.
Generali has also launched the GIS Absolute Return Convertible Bonds fund aimed at delivering consistent risk-adjusted returns.
Its strategy combines opportunities in a broad convertible bond universe with hedging and arbitrage techniques to improve downside protection.
“The two new funds demonstrate our commitment to taking advantage of some of our most outstanding capabilities, including our credit research, macro research, SRI analysis and stock-picking,” says Andrea Favaloro, head of sales and marketing at the firm.
Generali Investments, the fund management division of Generali Group, manages the two funds and has a total of €375 billion in assets under management.
