Franklin Templeton hires Eltoft for Nordic region

Franklin Templeton Investments has appointed Mats Eltoft as sales director for the Nordic region.

Eltoft will be responsible for developing the firm’s institutional business in Sweden. He will be based in Stockholm, and will report to Patrik Silfverling, director for the Nordic region.

Eltoft joins Franklin Templeton Investments from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he worked as a senior business development manager covering the Swedish institutional market for four years.

Prior to Aberdeen, he spent two years at Bank Sarasin AG in Germany, where he was a vice president covering the Nordics and again focusing primarily on institutional investors. He has also previously worked as an investment consultant at Mercer in Sweden.

Silfverling says: “Franklin Templeton continues to strengthen its presence in the Nordic region and Mats’ knowledge and experience in working with institutional investors across all asset classes will be a valuable asset to our Nordic team.”

Franklin Templeton Investments has over $894 billion (€832 billion) in assets under management as of February 28, 2015 and offers Nordic investors around 70 Luxembourg-registered Sicav funds.

The firm also recently merged two of its fund umbrellas in Luxembourg.
